FCCLG has a mission of Accepting all, Reaching out, and Touching lives. In order to ensure that we live out this mission, the people of FCCLG volunteer on ministry teams. Teams work on many tasks, from serving the poor to mowing the church lawn.
If you are interested in joining a ministry team, please contact the office at [email protected]
Thank you to everyone serving on a ministry team this year!
Ministry of Nurture
Our Ministry of Nurture team helps coordinate food, fun, and fellowship for our congregants. Whether it’s our weekly post-worship coffee hour or the annual fall Harvest Home Dinner, the Ministry of Nurture works to bring the people of FCCLG together to nurture a sense of community and unity.
If you want to help support the work of the Ministry of Nurture, you can sign up by clicking on the “Sign up now” button below.
FCCLG supports the hard working farmers who grow and harvest our coffee beans. We supply fair trade coffee, whenever possible.
Check out these videos about fair trade coffee. When farmers are paid fair prices for their coffee beans, whole villages are able to sustain life. As a congregation of coffee lovers, we can make a global difference!
Mission and Service
The Ministry of Mission organizes hands-on mission opportunities and provides financial support to local, national, and global ministries. 10% of our church’s budget goes to support mission and outreach all over the world.
In the last year we worked with Feed My Starving Children, Chicago Night Ministry, took an adult mission trip to the UCC Disaster Relief in New Orleans, hosted a Heartland Blood Drive, and organized a No Room At The Inn nativity exhibit.
If you’re interested in participating in FCCLG’s mission work, please contact the office at [email protected]!
Gathering with women of all ages is a meaningful experience. It is a time to share stories, exchange wisdom, and experience God in and through one another. We open ourselves more fully to all the joys of life when we share those joys with people who care for us. We encourage every woman to consider joining our Women’s Ministry events.
The Saturday Meals Program
The Saturday Meals Program (SMP) started in February of 2000 with a simple mission: feed people good food. Now, every Saturday, we serve a hot breakfast at 8am, hot lunch at noon, and a take home sack meal. We also support our guests with legal council.
It takes a whole community to make the Saturday Meals Program a success. If you would like to support this community-wide, ecumenical ministry through financial or in-kind donations, please contact our volunteer coordinator, JoAnne Konkle.
All year long, we have volunteers from around the Western Suburbs. If you, your family, or an organization you work with would like to volunteer with us — serving food, cooking, washing dishes, and talking with our guests — please contact our volunteer coordinator JoAnne Konkle.
We have girl/boy scout troops, confirmation classes, clubs, church groups, and families join us to serve the La Grange community. Join us!
New: Donate online! We’ve just begun to accept donations online. Donate to the Saturday Meals Program through the church’s secure online donation page.
