Book Club will meet next on Tuesday, November 10 at 7:30 pm. Our selected book is Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. This survival story follows Ryland Grace, science teacher and former biologist, who awakens alone aboard a spacecraft with no memory of who he is or why he is there. As fragments of his memory gradually return, he learns that he was recruited into a global emergency mission. Earth’s sun is dimming because of Astrophage, an alien microorganism that siphons solar energy, threatening global famine and human extinction. What follows is a thrilling blend of science, problem-solving, humor, and discovery.

The FCCLG Book Club is an excellent opportunity to explore important social justice, and historical topics through the books chosen among the group. At each meeting a book is selected and then a given date will be set to meet online (Zoom) for discussion.

Past book selections include: “Three Girls from Bronzeville: A Uniquely American Memoir of Race, Fate and Sisterhood” by Dawn Turner, “Edith: The Rouge Rockefeller McCormick” by Andrea Friederici Ross, and “Hamnet” by Maggie O’Farrell.

The Book Club meets virtually via Zoom. All readers are welcome!
