Let's Sing!
Music gives life to the Scripture that we read. At First Congregational Church, music is an integral part of our worship experience. Whether it’s the choir singing, children ringing bells, or guest musicians from the Chicago symphony orchestra, every Sunday the walls of our church are filled with song. We hope that when you worship with us you leave with a spring in your step and a song in your heart.
If you would like to participate in any of our musical programs, contact our Music Director Ryan Cox, at ryan@fcclg.org
Chancel Choir
This all-volunteer, SATB ensemble is open to all singers, high-school on up. Rehearsals are Thursdays, 7:30-9:30pm. The choir helps lead worship most Sundays, September thru May. The repertoire ranges from the great works of the last 400 years to the best new arrangements. At least twice per year the choir sings with orchestra for our “Choral Sermons.” New choir members are offered two free voice coachings with Ryan Cox.
Carillon Handbell Choir
Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:30-9pm and is also open to anyone high-school on up. Previous ringing experience is not required; however, basic music reading is helpful (counting is the big thing!). Regular ringers or those who would like to sub in from time to time are welcome.
For beginner or advanced musicians
At First Congregational Church, we are also blessed to host the First Conservatory of La Grange in our building. Since 1995 First Conservatory has provided expert musical instruction in a nurturing environment. We offer private lessons on most band and orchestral instruments, piano and voice. New students are welcome at any time.
